Abstract
We report on the initial development of a multi-modality wireless sensor platform for epileptic seizure detection using a microcontroller. Our platform approach adds sensors to detect physiological changes due to the clinical manifestation of a seizure activity to improve upon the accuracy of embedded implementations of a seizure detection system based solely upon EEG signals. Thus far, the platform prototype incorporates three sensors - a galvanic skin response (GSR) sensor, temperature sensor, and rotational sensor - to test the feasibility of gathering and subsequently transmitting multiple sensor data via Bluetooth wireless for further processing.
