Abstract :
Teachers´ organizational citizenship behavior (TOCB) is a kind of extra-role behavior and attitude which is beneficial for school. It is voluntary, unrelated to labor remuneration, and is the representation of the teachers´ contextual performance. Through the effective investigation to 430 teachers in 18 universities located in Bejing , Tianjin and Hebei province, this article found that: (1) teachers´ organizational citizenship behavior consists of five dimensions: identification with the organization, conscientiousness, assisting colleagues, interpersonal harmony and protecting company resources; (2) The teaching age, professional title and educational background of teachers have significant impact on their organizational citizenship behavior, and other background characteristics have no significant effect on TOCB. The empirical results will lay the theoretical foundation for further exploring the relationship between teachers´ organizational citizenship behavior and other variables; and it will provide practical guidance for evaluating and stimulating teachers´ performance in Chinese universities.
