Abstract :
A novel composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL) meta-material is proposed with two left-handed (backward) and two right-handed (forward) pass bands. The topology and method of operation of the line are discussed. The parameters of equivalent circuits of the CRLH-TL are extracted at 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz respectively. The dispersion relations are analytically derived using the equivalent circuit and Bloch-Floquet theory. The 5-stage CRLH-TL is fabricated. The measured results are in agreement with those of simulation and theory. A CRLH-TL with four control pass bands would be useful in a number of quad-band applications.
