Abstract :
In this paper, a new structure of echo and background music canceler by using Smart Acoustic Room (SAR) system for car hand-free telephone is presented. In this system, echo and background music canceler are combined together just using one microphone. That is, the sound signal from loudspeakers of car will be diminished at the microphone position of the hand-free telephone. This is realized by robust estimation algorithm for well control of the acoustic impulse responses in car. Therefore, unwanted background music and echo signals are canceled while the hand-free telephone receiving the speaker´s voice. In other words, people at far-end will not hear the background sound and echo signal from the near-end room. The computer simulation results support the theoretical findings and verify the robustness of the proposed algorithm.
