Abstract :
This paper presents a student project aimed at the development of a distributed framework for thermal simulations of electronic circuits. The architecture of the framework is well suited for e-learning or teaching through Internet. When creating the user interface, particular attention has been paid to the issues of security. Owing to the use of the latest Internet technologies, the framework allows running simulations without the necessity of revealing the computing engine code to a user. The input files for simulators can be created using the interface on any computer through an Internet browser. Additionally, the software renders possible for a network administrator to control the data traffic, the management of user groups and the edition of their particular access rights. Currently, the thermal simulations can be performed using a numerical FDM simulator and a semi-numerical simulator employing the thermal influence coefficient method
