Abstract :
The reliability and acceptability of an expert system depends mainly on the quality of knowledge. An ontology defines the terms used to describe and represent an area of knowledge. In order to organize the insect knowledge more orderly and computer-usable, an ontology for insect was developed. The insect ontology is the basis for the identification of an insect from its characteristics, and for beginners to learn the basic knowledge of insect. Prote¿ge¿ 3.2 is used for ontology development of concepts and relationships.
