Abstract
A technique for the detection of the presence of a broad but limited class of interfering signals resulting from common modulation methods in radiometer data is presented. The technique exploits the asymmetry of the signals´ modulation constellation in I-Q space and the resulting effect on the statistical 2D probability distribution of a low SNR signal when demodulated and distributed in I-Q space. The statistical limitations of this technique and its application to radiometry are discussed.
