Abstract :
Modern digital subscriber loop transmission systems make use of adaptive digital signal processing techniques. The transceivers are designed to deal with the wide range of channel impairments encounted in the access network. It is important to fully simulate new algorithms and transmission methods before committing designs to hardware. The paper describes software modelling techniques that have resulted in simulation performance predictions to within 1 dB of measured hardware results
