Abstract
We describe an innovative approach to meteor burst communication (MBC) based on a digital signal processor (DSP). The technique is different from the traditional approach in that a hardware modem is replaced by a DSP based modem, and because it buffers the modulated signals to enable modulation and demodulation to be performed when the DSP is idle. Results are presented of simulations undertaken to make comparisons between the throughput of the buffered DSP technique and the traditional hardware approach
