Abstract :
Computer simulation of hypervelocity interaction of copper needle-like projectiles (with velocities in range: 10-15 km/s) with thin copper electrodes in a vacuum under different applied voltages (1-30 kV) and external circuit parameters was produced by using a two-dimensional thermoelectrohydrodynamical code. The nonlinear plasma-emissive processes-the generation and dynamics of so called cathode and anode ectons-are numerically investigated
