  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Combined wave scattering and transformation in a plasma was considered by Sitenko et al. (1966), Wilhelmsson et al. (1991) and Pavlenko et al. (1999). In the present report we investigate the scattering of a transverse electromagnetic wave by turbulent density fluctuations in an homogeneous and inhomogeneous magnetoactive plasma with the lower hybrid (LH) and upper hybrid (UH) pump wave. We calculate the coefficient of the scattering for the plasma with density gradient in the presence of LH parametric instability. The scattering processes for the homogeneous magnetized plasma when the UH pump wave decays into daughter wave and ionsound or convective cells is considered. We investigated also the transformation of transverse electromagnetic wave into longitudinal plasma wave in such plasma and calculate the coefficient of transformation. Several application of scattering processes for plasma diagnostics are discussed.
