Abstract
Multidimensional scaling is a set of data analysis techniques. It pictures the structure of a set of objects from data that approximate the distances between pairs of the objects, and has been proposed for wireless network based mobile location. However, classical multidimensional scaling is sensitive to the range measurements error due to non-line-of-sight propagation. This paper presents a dynamic multidimensional scaling algorithm for mobile localization. The performance is analyzed in the minimum localization system using time-of-arrival (TOA) measurements from three base stations. Simulation results show that the algorithm performs well in non-line-of-sight scenario
