Abstract
The time-averaging (TAI) interpolation technique allows extra resolution to be added to a digital to analogue converter (DAC) by operating it at higher speeds. The basic technique is illustrated for TAI using a digital interpolator (DI). In contrast with other oversampling methods no feedback is used in this system. This deterministic interpolation approach can overcome many of the problems of the noise shaping (NS) systems, caused by practical limitations of DACs
