Abstract :
Conceptually the vertical structure is a subranging converter but operates on a different principle which eliminates some of the disadvantages of the classical subranging ADC. Instead of subranging with coarse ADC, DAC, and subtracting amplifier the input voltage is divided into several subranges and a window-amplifier is used for simplification of each subrange
