Abstract
Performance-index functions are proposed as quantitative measures of the quality of the large-signal time-domain response of regulated energy-storage dc-to-dc converters. By using a particular performance-index function as a simulation design guide, improved transient response of a regulated converter has been obtained, substantiating the utility of performance-index functions.
