Abstract
A new control method is described which suppresses oscillations when an induction motor is driven by PWM inverters. The method is based on detecting the direction of the power flow by the inverter input current. Experiments proved that oscillations could be suppressed regardless of the motor type or speed, even for induction motors driven by PWM inverters using an asynchronous pulse width modulation technique.
