  • Abstract
A novel spectrum utilization method is proposed for cognitive radio applications, which assume that time-frequency overlapped two-signals coexist on single-channel, and it can improve frequency spectrum utilization. The feasibility of this method can be verified by the carrier recognition algorithm based on second-order cycle cumulants. In this paper, consider any combination of BSPK, QPSK, 8QAM and 16QAM modulation. Simulation results show that the accuracy of carrier frequency estimation is greater than 95% when SNR isn´t less than -5dB. It proves the possibility of distinguishing two signals, that is to say the feasibility of the method.
