Abstract :
In general a light from photonic quantum ring (PQR) laser of circular mesas is tangentially polarized along the luminescent circumference within 30 degree inclination from the surface normal. We report initial results of polarization properties from elongated square shaped PQR lasers for optical encoder application and present a prototype encoder.
