  • Abstract
The performance of the average carrier to-cochannel interference ratio (C¯/I¯) for both the cubic and the proposed body-centered-cubic (BCC) cells are examined. The cochannel reuse factor of the proposed BCC cells qb is derived and presented. The performance of C¯/I¯ versus the number of channel sets or cells per cluster N for the cubic cells and the BCC cells for different number of tiers of cochannel cells Ts are analyzed. We consider the worst case scenario where the mobile station is located at the vertex (or deephole) of the cell and the signal strength is presumably at the lowest level. Assuming a path loss exponent γ for all cells, the C¯/I¯ for the BCC cellular structure is 3.5 dB superior to that of the cubic structure when γ=3,T=1,N=100
