Abstract :
With the tremendous growth of multimedia services in the network, many new challenges arise to network operations. These challenges are not limited to just significant channel capacity increase, in addition, they require new types of processing that is not needed in the traditional broadcast distribution chains. These processes are crucial to ensure successful deployment of video services in core networks, where a well-managed, highly scalable, and robust video network is the key. We presented an open multimedia networks services architecture that addresses these requirements. This architecture can be implemented as System-on-chip solutions for next-generation video services.
