Evaluation and Empirical Study on the Capacity of Regional Technical Innovation

As an aspect of the regional innovation system, the capacity of regional technical innovation is determining factor of region economy growth. The capacity of regional technical innovation is the interactive outcome of various regional innovational factors. This paper sets up evaluation indexes for four aspects with twenty-two variables selected from six provinces in Central China. The principal of factor analysis with SPSS is introduces. The method of factor analysis is applied to evaluation of regional technical innovation capacity. The process and result with the method of cluster analysis are illustrated in detail based on factor analysis. It can help us to compare different areas innovation activities and provide the scientific reference for adopting suitable regional technical innovation strategy.
