Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to educate the reader to the current status of terms and specifications for low smoke, nonhalogen cables. Low smoke, nonhalogen terms and phrases are being used more frequently in specifications for wires and cables. It is necessary, therefore, to know some background information in order to write a good specification for power cables
