Abstract :
The method of poor resolution text images enhancement using a lowpass signal filtering algorithm in the weighted Sobolev space is presented and it is shown that filtration in the weighted Sobolev space results in highpass correction similar to unsharp masking. The criteria which can be used to choose weight in machine enhancement systems is defined. The proposed filtration method allows to improve poor resolution text image visual quality comparing to similar algorithms in L2-space.
