Abstract
To study a nonlinear compensation for human vision contrast resolution (HVCR) in the scotopic condition in order to improve it. If the different gray information, which is acquired in the scotopic condition and cannot be resolved by human vision, is placed at such a gray level distance as the just noticeable difference (JND), HVCR in the scotopic condition can be compensated nonlinearly. Through the compensation of HVCR, the various gray information, which cannot be resolved originally by the human vision, is resolvable clearly. The method compensating nonlinearly HVCR in the scotopic conditions can obviously improve HVCR in the scotopic conditions.
