Abstract :
Reverberation chambers can provide a statistically robust test electromagnetic environment. The required statistical performance is commonly obtained using a rotatable, conductive tuner to provide a sufficient number of independent chamber modal structures by changing boundary conditions. Stepped and continuous tuner rotations provide different test conditions each with advantages and disadvantages. Dwell time, the specific time that the test environment must remain constant, as dictated by the equipment under test, impacts stepped and continuous tuner rotation differently. This paper investigates tuner operation options with emphasis on reducing test times for continuous rotation with dwell time requirements.
