Abstract :
Construction has always been a traditional and labor-intensive industry and construction projects are divided into several independent management phases, it is always a challenge to implement information technology in construction management to improve construction productivity holistically. Based on study of information lifecycle management methodology, this paper presents an information lifecycle approach to manage construction information efficiently by visual information lifecycle modeling. An innovative application framework of information lifecycle management for construction projects is suggested for all construction participants who can access construction lifecycle information whenever they need, and a visual nD construction information model which can help all construction participants understand the comprehensive construction data exactly is developed. The integration and interoperability strategies of construction lifecycle data have been discussed particularly with reference to use in visual nD construction information modeling.
