Abstract :
The problem of time-harmonic radiation from sources in the presence of a horizontally stratified chiral slab has been developed by formulating the relevant dyadic Green´s functions. These Green´s functions characterize the reflection and transmission properties of a horizontally stratified (i.e., vertically piecewise constant) chiral slab of finite thickness and infinite lateral extent. Once these Green´s functions are known, shielding calculations can be made for arbitrary sources. This problem is of interest for the purpose of electromagnetic shielding by artificial chiral materials active at microwave frequencies
