Abstract :
This study was designed to investigate the time-varying characteristics of blood scattering on high frequency intravascular ultrasound in vivo from pig experiments. Results show that blood scattering signals de-correlate significantly faster than signals received from arterial tissues. A correlation method based on this characteristic has been developed to suppress the blood echo intensity. Preliminary investigation also indicates that flow information can be extracted from the relationship between the temporal correlation and the flow velocity
