Abstract :
In this paper a computer-aided style stroke extraction system is developed. In this system all the objects in a "Dun Huang" fresco is classified into the stroke objects and the non-stroke objects. The styled strokes are extracted as a whole using an effective algorithm, which utilize the relationship between points and curves combined both the spatial information and the color information. While the edges of the non-stroke objects can be extracted by the state-of-the-art edge detection technique. All the extracted style strokes and the edges are formed the digital sketch of the fresco. This research has the potential to provide a computer aided tool for art historians to do imitation work, and improve the efficiency of imitation
