Abstract :
In this paper, an important method for computing the tool-path, and constructing the offset curves of pocket boundary generates its tool-path planning is the Contour-parallel strategy. But it is very difficult for the judgment and disposal of loop. The main disfigurement of the algorithm in the contour-parallel calculation includes to judge and dispose the linking of offset curves, and to take out the curve intersection, redundant loop, and to check-up self-intersection loop, and to test the whole pocket collapse, and so on. A new algorithm to calculate geodesic quickly is presented in this paper. Based on this method, the area partition idea of Voronoi diagram is extended to the application of two-dimensional Riemann manifold. The area partition of the free surface with island is solved by an iteration method, and then the generation of contour-parallel tool-path is implemented. At last, the validity of this algorithm is verified by an example.
