  • Abstract
IP services networks are supporting diverse applications with increasing scalability, performance, security, and quality of service requirements. Any fault or degradation of the network may result in violation of the SLAs or even halt the requested service. New emerging issues are related to the dynamic aspects of service provisioning, including on-the-fly changes in service definitions, dynamic re-specification of SLAs, changes in resources, requests for rapid near real-time deployment of new services, mobility of the new services. Monitoring (in real-time) of services, SLAs, resources, QoS is becoming a critical aspect of successful service provisioning. This paper addresses the challenges of monitoring of IP services, and proposes a solution based on distributed component architecture and real-time event correlation. The paper discusses the nature of dynamic IP services for a variety of enterprise management applications and, as in example describes several IP service management scenarios. It presents the architecture of a dynamic IP service management. The focal point of the architecture will be core component services including event analysis, correlation, explanation and notification services. The issues of implementation of these services will be discussed
