Abstract
Electrode contact measurement is important in the field of bio-potential amplifiers, particularly home healthcare measurement devices, since measured signal quality depends on the contact impedance between the human body and the electrode. The incorporation of either current or voltage source to the home healthcare device can cause to increases in the number of circuit components and the risk of electrical shock if an electrical circuit malfunction occurs. In this paper, we propose a simple and relative electrode contact monitoring method by using power line interference noise source without additional measurement circuit components. The experimentation demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed measurement method for steady home healthcare devices.
