Abstract :
A 60 GHz GaAs image reject mixer for WPAN implemented with the Hartley architecture in a commercial 0.15 μm pHEMT technology is presented. Passive components surrounding the resistive mixers include a RF divider, two RF/IF filters, an IF combiner and LO coupler. By using miniaturization techniques the effective area of the design with integrated IF is 1.92 × 2.66 mm2. This is 50% smaller than a design using quarter-wave passives for the coupler, divider and combiner. Approximately 21.6 dB of image rejection ratio is measured at the IF of 5.8 GHz. Conversion gain and LO power are -19 dB and 9.7 dBm, respectively.
