Abstract :
Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) Systems are a new tool for robotics, whose purpose is to enrich the information that a robot acquires from the environment. This work presents an approach to exploit the attributes and advantages of RFID technology in mobile robots, since we can carry out applications that have a positive influence on the autonomy of the robot for navigation tasks. The main contribution of this study is the use of RFID tags like traffic signals, as humans do when we are looking for warnings and information posters to get to a place we do not know. The idea is that the robot can read these signals and thus know where is it, where it can go and how to get there.
