Abstract :
SmCo5 nanoparticles have been prepared by using Sm(acac), and Co(acac)2 as the precursors via chemical route. The use of a long chain 1,2-hexadecanediol is for reducing the metal acetylacetonate to metal in the presence of oleic acid and oleylamine stabilizers. The size of nanoparticles was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The contents of the nanoparticles were measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The crystal structure of nanoparticles was characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD). The magnetic properties were characterized by superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). The hysteresis loops reveal the magnetic properties of the nanoparticles.
