Abstract :
Ag nanoparticles were synthesized with thermal decomposition of Ag -oleate complex in autoclave. The size and shape of Ag nanoparticles are confirmed with transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Characterization of Ag nanoparticles was done with X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The synthesized Ag nanoparticles were used as seeds for Ag/SiO2 nanoparticles, which had core-shell structures. TEM images of Ag(core)/SiO (shell) nanoparticles showed that silver core was coated with silica oxide. The crystal structure and composition Ag(core)/SiO2(shell) nanoparticles were investigated with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDS).
