Abstract :
Diastolic blood pressure estimation using only pulse arrival time was not sufficient. To overcome it, arterial stiffness was considered. Several parameters related to information, time, slop information in photoplethysmography signal were chosen and investigated. Five subjects executed Valsalva Maneuver which caused the blood pressure variation. Time from maximum point of first derivative wave to dicrotic notch point in photoplethysmography signal (TDB) was selected as the robust and correlated parameter with blood pressure. Especially, the parameter had correlated with diastolic blood pressure more than systolic blood pressure (R= -0.666 for SBP, R= -0.712 for DBP). It could be useful for blood pressure estimation method which was valid for only systolic blood pressure.
