  • Abstract
Bone drilling interaction is an important method of reducing the over prominent bone areas of the mandibular angle in cosmetic facial contour surgeries. A new haptic bone drilling interaction model based on Impulse Theorem and Coulomb Law is proposed in this paper, and a hybrid mandible bone reduction surgery training system is also developed with visual and haptic feedbacks. Experimental results show the satisfactory performance of the proposed method in reflecting the fidelity of the touch-enabled bone drilling interaction in the real world.
