Abstract :
The millimeter wave transport over fiber needs more and more bandwidth according to SONET norm which must be able to propagate baseband modulated digital signal. This paper presents a modulator driver which is a direct-coupled amplifier to overcome the frequency limitations due to the link capacitors. A two stages DC-40 GHz GaAs P-HEMT amplifier including a level shift cell has been designed using the real frequency synthesis method.
