Abstract :
Fault localization is an important issue in all-optical networks. Considered with the accurate and fast multi-link failures localization for multi-domain all-optical networks, we propose an effective localization mechanism based on the limited perimeter vector match (LVM) protocol. The inter-domain multi-link failures are located according to the alarm and monitoring information. And the disrupted lightpaths are separated into small perimeter areas of each domain to locate the intra-domain multi-link failures without exchanging any internal confidential information among multi-domain all-optical networks. The simulation results indicate that this mechanism has feature of fast fault localization and it can achieve high localization rate of multi-link failures for multi-domain all-optical networks.
