Abstract
ZigBee-based wireless sensor network is proposed. It employs star topology. The work mode of wake up on-demand is adopted for the essential part of ZigBee WSN in order to enlarge the capacity of the sensor network and to resolve the problem of energy supply. We use the STOP mode, only a very low power transmitter is used to monitor the channel when the sensor node is NOT waken up and the sensor node is waken up periodically.
