Abstract

Wiki is a collaborative writing tool. Applying Wiki to English writing can support peer revision effectively. Generally speaking, the Wiki-based platform of English writing set up on some official Wiki websites, which can´t fulfill the needs of teaching, such as lacking adequate management support for the teaching of English writing. Our project designs and develops a Wiki-based Peer-revision Platform for College English Writing (WPPCEW) on the local JSPWiki platform, which is guided by the Process Writing Method. The main advantage of WPPCEW is to overcome drawbacks of the current Wiki-based platform of English writing. Teaching practice also demonstrates that this peer-revision platform has the problems such as the inconvenience of page-naming rules and the control of permissions.
