Abstract
Presents a method for the extraction of anatomic structures on ultrasound images using the discrete dynamic contour. The concept of the traditional “snake” is kept while overcoming many of their limitations by using fuzzy images as potential term and by adding constraints on the model. After the model description, results are presented using oesophageal endosonographic images containing tumoral areas
