Abstract
Increases in network traffic due to the expansion of IP broadcast services in recent years have stimulated the requirement of performance and capability in transport network. As an attractive candidate to support the packet switching functionality envisioned in converged next generation transport systems, T-MPLS is gained more attentions to find out its characteristics. This paper describes a T-MPLS test-bed which is composed of Management Plane (MP), Control Plane (CP) and Transport Plane (TP), and then also proposes a means of module design on T-MPLS nodes, by which the entire functions the T-MPLS needs can be achieved. For each node, the three planes of T-MPLS will be mapped with Management Unit (MU), Control Unit (CU) and Packet Switching & Forwarding Unit (P&FU), which are independent in logic but relied on each other in function. Those three modules communicate with each other via NMI-C and CI.
