Abstract
In china, over 60% of the general population and 80% of young adults own mobile phones. These offer the opportunity for people not only to make phone calls, but to gain the advantages of mobile services such as text and multimedia messaging, mobile learning, etc. Mobile learning is rapidly growing from a set of research projects into worldwide deployment of services for classrooms, workplace training and informal learning. The objective of this paper is to offer some theoretical foundations of mobile learning such as informal learning, situated cognition and learning, contextual learning, action learning, experiential learning, etc. The aim is to analyze learning process in the mobile age and provide theory foundations for the designer and developer of mobile learning.
