Abstract :
The problems and fabrication difficulties with the conventional edge-emitted LDs, VCSELs and LEDs were analyzed. Novel transverse coupled large optical cavity LDs, longitudinal coupled VCSELs and high efficiency and, ultrahigh brightness LEDs with multiactive region structure were proposed. Simulations and experiments indicated that these novel LDs and LEDs were of excellent performance and application prospects.
