Abstract
This paper presents a fully integrated auto-zero feedback for use in analog frontends of high-speed optical communication systems. The feedback provides a lower cutoff frequency of 30 kHz without needing any external capacitor. It is implemented and proved in a 40 GBit/s transimpedance amplifier fabricated in a 0.25 μm SiGe BiCMOS technology. The TIA provides >;27 dB gain with a bandwidth of >;34 GHz over an input current range from 0 to 0.8 mApp.
