Abstract :
The paper compares the differences and advantages of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with those of traditional topographic model. It introduces the technical key points of DEM establishment, such as technical route, grid data processing and vector data processing. Algorithm of automatically assigning DEM elevation is deeply studied in this paper. Using this algorithm can improve the efficiency of data processing. Then taking the general plan for Badaling forest park in Beijing as an example, it gives briefly description of the application of DEM to topographic analysis, domain of vision analysis, tree species selection and disposal as well.
