Abstract :
More and more theories are used in equipment maintenance, what is the relation between them? How to use them integrally? What is the future trend of maintenance theory development? All questions can get answer for paper. Based on the Value Stream Analysis (VSA), inherit ldquovaluerdquo relation of Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Re-Manufacture (RM) Engineering is established. Then the concept of Lean Maintenance (LM) is introduced, and a simple layered technology framework about LM is built, into which most familiar maintenance theories are integrated. The different role of some maintenance theories in realizing Lean Maintenance is discussed generally. Lastly, A clutch maintenance example is analyzed which explains how to apply the new LM layered framework in equipment maintenance improvement.
