Abstract :
By the use of the FEA (finite element analysis) method, the effects caused by mechanical adjustments and shimming pieces are studied via simulating calculation. With the help of the study, the homogeneity of the magnetic field, produced by a prototype of magnet assembly, is brought to an acceptable level in a short time. Shimming experiments employed the mentioned method are done on the magnet for small scale NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) system. Results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
